A lot has changed and a lot has remained the same. I am hoping to begin keeping track of my life and my thoughts on here again.
I have started riding my bike to work a few months ago. I now have a new commute since being layed-off/fired(Im still not sure what it was technically, but it wasnt cool either way.) and finding a new job. Check out the route on http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Daily-Commute80024 and it has all kind of other neat routes on it as well. Its a really cool resource. The ride is a five mile ride with a few little hills and one big one. On the way home there is 284 feet of rise in elevation and only 72 feet of descent. Most of all the climb is the one big hill. Its fun in the mornings going down though.
I ride a 2006 Raleigh Rush Hour single speed track bike that my family got for me for my birthday this year. Easily one of the best birthday presents ever...
That is a picture of it from the Raleigh Website. I have different tires on it, but other than that it looks just like this. Awesome right? Its so awesome that I am selling my van and my wife and I are going to go to only one car and hopefully only use that for extra long distances and emergencies. Its really a freeing experience riding a bike. Its you an the road and you can go anywhere you wish. You are not confined in your car, to the street, to anything. It has changed my life.
Other things that have changed my life...
My wife. Yes, Chelsea and I actually got married. We have been married for over a year and a half, and it has been the best experience of my life. Yes, even better than the bike. Her Xanga is here
www.xanga.com/PontiusPirate and she keeps it updated a lot more than I do.
Our parrots. Charlie the Amazon is ours.
Tweety the Lutino Indian Ringneck, that we are fostering.
There will be more to come I am sure. My life overall has been wonderfully blessed as of late. Really, its been wonderfully blessed all the way through, but Ive been seeing it more and more lately. Its often easy to forget how much we have and get caught up in what we are missing, but for now I am content with what I have. A wonderful family, two wonderful birds, a fast bike, a job, and all the love I could ever need.
